Maps app deleted map data after update and now refuses to download new map data.

I've been using Maps for a long time. Every update always deleted my map data, and all my favorited places and all my tracks data, bit it still worked. Now it is 100% percent unusable. The app is stuck on the download screen. It just instantly says that the download failed. Pressing try again doesn't work.
