Map fades out at certain zoom level

Hello, I noticed a bug in 9.0.8-2 (last version available at f-droid) where the background color gets pretty dark when zooming on the map. It also happens on automatic zooming while driving, exactly at 70km/h.

It doesn't matter if you change Night Mode to on, off or automatic.

I've only faced it on an Android 8.0 car radio, (basically a tablet) on every point of the map.

I've attached two photos where I manually zoom at coordinates 39.157532, -3.021982.

I can recompile the app for debugging if needed. Tell me if anyone has seen this. I've only tried it on Spain maps.
