Whatever was wrong with my digit reading function or what was
being passed to it, I somehow fixed by accident, I was dealing
with fixing a separate bug on the inconsistent return values and
implementing option list support (yes, you can now change from
the defaults to another list, 0-9 will still be handled internally
however) and somehow I started getting to the expected loops.

Somehow getting more configs than expected but more
importantly I have a segfault to crush, hopefully it will be a
simlutaneous fix as the 2 scenarios are related.
