Design database with GUI for SMP profiles
Uploading SMP profiles via AWSOME's dedicated webservice stores the pnt files in their binary format into a Mongo database (together with auxiliary files like CAAMLs). SnowMicroPyn has been modified to be able to directly work with data coming from the database. Since there is no central place for pnt storage yet (no WISKI, no Lawis) in the future this could be it. Hence, the database collections should be future-proof.
Upon storage AWSOME extracts some metadata from the binary profiles and stores it as database fields which can then easily be queried for. So, if all of this proves fruitful the missing piece for the end user is to be able to get back their pnt files. For this we could add a download tab to the SMP web service which allows downloading SMP profiles matching some search criteria.
At regular intervals the database could be dumped to external storage.
