Passions List Improvements
Description of Problem
-
The change in the position of the Passions list between locked (view) and unlocked (edit) modes on the character sheet is disconcerting. Because of the narrowing of the cell column in unlocked mode and the font choice, the list becomes unsightly and difficult to use.
-
Double-clicking a passion's value in the list should executes a test dialog rather than permit edits of the value. Changing a passion's value is something that happens (often) during play and should be as direct as possible.
-
Passions not organized and cannot be organized in the list.
-
The special case Honor passion should always appear on a PC sheet and should not be delete-able.
Proposed Solutions
-
Do not alter the position/size of the passions lists between locked and unlocked mode.
-
Allow the value of the passion to be edited directly in-line rather than forcing a trip through the edit dialog. It takes 3 clicks and a modal shift to accomplish this currently (click edit button, go to edit window, click value field, close edit window). This could be solved by a single click on the value field and allowing an edit of the value quickly in place.
-
Several solutions present themselves:
- Sort the Passions alphabetically. A simple solution that improves usability during play.
- Allow the player to manualyl re-arrange the passions via drag-drop. (Complicated.)
- Arrange passions in categories (eg, "Loyalty", "Love", etc...) with the object of the passion presented as a specialized sub-value that can be expanded or collapsed during play. Sort categories and objects alphabetically. (Complicated).
-
Always present Honor at the top of the passion list and do not allow it to be deleted.
