New marketplace

While Shopify and MVM were able to get us up and running withing just a few months and are functioning acceptably well for now, there are some things that left to be desired, such as:

• Cost of all these platforms, apps, and add-ons
  • Furthermore, we can't have a test environment without doubling our costs!
• Frequently difficult to use
  • As the administrators
  • As the sellers
  • The buyer experience is reasonably smooth
• Difficulty getting support from the software vendors
  • Don't understand the issues even after multiple exchanges
  • Ignore sections of our requests (in some cases up to 75% of the concerns we raised)
  • Is either unwilling/unable to resolve some major issues that we bring to them
• Unable to resolve issue ourselves because we don't control the code
• Unable to guide the direction of the software (e.g. new features, prioritizing issues we're facing)

For these reasons, and others, we want to move to another platform that is better suited for our needs. This is an absolutely enormous task, which we will break up into multiple issues to try to make it more manageable.
