I can only stop these sounds by turning down the system/media sound to 0. When I receive SMS everything works. There is no notification sound in silent mode. Some people in the telegram channel noticed a similar behavior with the Google calender app. Steps to reproduce: - Press volume rocker, select "silent mode" (striked through bell symbol). - Press power button shortly to turn the screen off. - Let someone send a message in Signal. - The phone will make a notification sound.
