Onboarding game improvements
[11:20:34] so cool getting the game off of steam
[11:20:48] but I'm not 100% sure about the setting used for the first play of the game
[11:21:12] I know it says things are slowed down, but even accounting for that it felt very slow paced
[11:21:35] and very easy for the player to end up cut-off from the AI and end up going around by themselves waiting for the AI to die - not very engaging
[11:22:05] also with the default rubber very unforgiving if you're unused to timing your turns, particularly if you try and grind like in the trailer
[11:22:29] both facets together I think make it a bit difficult for a new player to engage without dying constantly, which will turn them off from playing more
[11:23:20] I'd suggest bumping up the rubber, decreasing the arena size, and setting a finite tail length to help new players feel more involved with the game play, while giving them more to play around with for their first go
[11:25:11] it was just too easy to end up with a line down the middle of the arena with me on one side and the AI on the other and nothing to do but go back and forth and wait for the AI to kill itself
