ArcMenu 53: Expected type string for argument 'desktop_id'

First got this error on GNOME 45.3 with ArcMenu 53 (52 works well). With ArcMenu 53 the menu refuses to open and the following error is shown when the settings menu is opened.

For anyone else looking for a quick fix before the extension is updated: I was able to manually install version 52 and the guide provided here (https://www.pragmaticlinux.com/2021/06/manually-install-a-gnome-shell-extension-from-a-zip-file) then modify the version in metadata.json to 999 to prevent GNOME from auto-updating it.
