Need to push DOWN KEY twice to select the second search result

After you entered a search phrase, the first result is highlighted and you simply can hit Enter to launch/open it, which is
However, pressing DOWN key at this moment will not move the selection to the second result, you need to press DOWN one more time, then navigation works as expected.
I'm not sure if it is a bug or how it is designed, but at least to me, it's not expected behavior. Both default GNOME search and even Windows start menu always move the cursor to the second result when you hit DOWN after the search.
