Allow exploring app resources through standard data manipulation tools
A wish has been expressed to work directly with the database used by an app through regular data manipulation tools (like pgadmin for PostgreSQL or mysqlworkbench for MySQL or Azure data explorer as more generic tool).
Appsemble doesn't allow a direct database connection for (currently) good reasons.
How could we make the desired scenario possible? We're all about connectivity to others, so it's worth exploring.
Option 1
Start using a database per app so we can allow direct PostgreSQL connections from external users (if they mess up, nothing we can do. But since it's only app data, effects should be limited to only one app).
Option 2
OData can be used to query app data already. Tools like Azure Data Explorer have to option to connect through ODBC. There's an ODBC Odata connector that can make the chain work (closed source though). There are also tools available to directly speak 'OData': https://www.odata.org/ecosystem/#consumers, although there's no tool I recognize.
