No way to control reactor thermal output

The nuclear rods run at full power constantly until they run out or melt down, this isn't realistic as RL reactors have ways to reduce thermal power using controls rods. I find it annoying that I cannot reduce output power as pipes heat up and I come back to a melted mess if I don't watch the temperatures like a hawk.
