Installation Guide - Apache - Missing a step for disabling the default apache vhost.
We were following the installation guide, and encountered an installation issue.
Fresh install, Ubuntu 18.04
If you follow the guide, Apache will still display it's default installation page when you are finished.
This is because Apache still has the 000-default.conf vhost enabled.
This also stops certbot from properly installing.
Whilst troubleshooting on Discord, Juvir was helping us out, and made us run
That displayed two active vhosts: 000-default.conf and myauth.conf
After disabling the default by running
a2dissite 000-default.conf the problem was solved.
I want to emphasize that the steps in the guide are still correct, and only seem to be missing a step.
Since I don't know if this is default in all current fresh Apache installations, I would suggest something like this:
