Discussion: Consider using Vue Native
I've been looking at ways that I could contribute to this project with the little time I have available right now. It's been limited to testing the app and logging issues and ideas, but I've been toying with the idea of contributing some code to address some of the issues too.
That said I'm not very familiar with React, and while I wouldn't mind learning it, it's often a matter of balancing other priorities and family in my spare time.
So I was wondering whether using something like Vue Native might not be a way to lower the barrier for contribution to this project from the broader GitLab community.
Reasons I can think of at least considering it:
- GitLab uses Vue and so the developers employed by GitLab would be able to much easier contribute to this project in their personal capacity if the tech stack was more aligned.
- The broader GitLab community is used to contributing to GitLab using VueJS
- It might allow possible re-use of GitLab UI components, creating a familiar user experience and reducing development time
