Remove "Sign in" CTA in the options page
Background / User story
Following https://gitlab.com/adblockinc/websites-team/account.adblockplus.org/-/issues/3#note_1058856819, the /manage
page won't provide a way for the user to log-in with an email, and rather will use the Premium User ID license code
to identify the license to manage. Which means that free users won't be able to access the /manage
page and the "Sign in" CTA that appears in the option page for those users will break.
Update: We have decided to remove the "Sign in" button for the time being.
What to change
- Spec: spec!405 (merged)
-
Development: Temporarily remove/hide the
Sign in
link in the Settings page's premium header
Hints for testers
- Upgrade banner (free users) and premium banner (premium users) in the options page, along with their elements, should display properly.
- Notice that we now have deviated from the original design as one of the elements is removed and there are no visual designs for this change.
Hints for translators
- "options_signin_button" string has been removed
