Currently, remote backup in YunoHost is implemented through a community app (based on BorgBackup). It is planned to integrate this mechanism directly into the core and webadmin to make it even simpler, smoother, and to boost the adoption of the use of remote backups. Various technical challenges lie behind this, related to security, user experience and resource usage.
