Create Applications Manual
YottaDB software is infrastructure, and suitable for a wide range of use cases. However, that very flexibility means that to someone not already knowledgeable, it is not always clear how to use it to meet a need. Analogous to applications notes created by the semiconductor industry (e.g., https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snoa620/snoa620.pdf, https://toshiba.semicon-storage.com/info/application_note_en_20220826_AKX01084.pdf?did=143903, https://aosmd.com/sites/default/files/res/application_notes/mosfets/MOS-010.pdf, or https://www.onsemi.com/design/resources/technical-documentation), the Applications Manual would have sections with chapters (examples) such as:
- Development
- Using VS Code for development
- Gaming
- Persisting game state across sessions
- Internet of Things Stacks
- Monitoring environmental factors such as temperature, pressure, and light
- Monitoring brain activity
- Cloud Deployment
- Creating a microservice
- System Administration and Operations
- Syslog analytics and forensics
Each example would discuss the architecture and underlying principles of the proposed solution, trade-offs, extensions, alternatives, limitations, etc. Each example would be accompanied by sample code under YottaDB Demos, and introduced with a blog post.
This Issue is for the creation of the manual with its first example or two. Subsequent sections and examples will have their own Issues and Merge Requests.
