Make it easier to install YottaDB from a source or binary tarball
Final Release Note
The simplest way to install the current release of YottaDB is the ydbinstall.sh script. Use the version in your YottaDB distribution tarball, or download the current version, make the file executable, and execute it:
-
sudo ./ydbinstall.sh
downloads and installs the current YottaDB release with a reasonable set of defaults, or installs the current version if it is part of a YottaDB distribution. -
./ydbinstall.sh --help
prints a list of command line options. -
./ydbinstall.sh --verbose
outputs information as it executes, for troubleshooting purposes (for example if Internet access is stalled by a proxy server, the script will print thewget
command it is trying to execute and hang).
While the gtminstall and configure scripts remain available (and ydbinstall.sh uses configure under the covers), their use to install YottaDB is considered deprecated.
