$ZSTATUS after OPEN command errors identifies the file name
Final Release Note
$ZSTATUS, after an OPEN command that encounters an error, identifies the associated file name in addition to the error (e.g. %YDB-E-DEVOPENFAIL, Error opening /tmp/x.txt, %SYSTEM-E-ENO13, Permission denied
). Previously it only identified the error without the associated file name (e.g. %SYSTEM-E-ENO13, Permission denied
). [#584 (closed)]
Description
Currently, any errors in the OPEN command only identify why the command failed. For example, if an OPEN tried to create a new file in a directory that did not have read/write permissions, one would see a %SYSTEM-E-ENO13, Permission denied
error show up in $ZSTATUS
. But one would have no idea from the $ZSTATUS
value what file was involved in that error. It would be nice to also include the file name involved in $ZSTATUS
e.g. %YDB-E-DEVOPENFAIL, Error opening /tmp/x.txt, %SYSTEM-E-ENO13, Permission denied
.
Draft Release Note
$ZSTATUS, after an OPEN command that encountered an error, now identifies the associated file name in addition to what error was encountered (e.g. %YDB-E-DEVOPENFAIL, Error opening /tmp/x.txt, %SYSTEM-E-ENO13, Permission denied
). Previously only the error was recorded without the associated file name (e.g. %SYSTEM-E-ENO13, Permission denied
). [#584 (closed)]
