Cannot disable quoted graphical for plain text
- QuoteColors version 3.0.1
- Thunderbird version 91.0 (64-Bit)
QuoteColors add-on works perfect with graphical quoting:
I am trying to disable graphical quoting (colored bars) for plain text messages and use the quote character ">" instead, while keeping colored text based on quoting level.
First, in order to disable graphical quoting independent of quote colors add-on, I set mail.quoted_graphical
to false and mailnews.display.disable_format_flowed_support
to true, as suggested by https://www.thunderbird-mail.de/lexicon/entry/32-spezielle-manuelle-anpassungen#mail.quoted_graphical (did not see any impact from mail.quoteasblock
). This results in
> quoted text in blue
in inbox, outbox and compose window, as desired and expected:
Second, if I add QuoteColors addon to the equation, the result is a mixture of graphical (lefthand colored bars) and non-graphical (correctly colored ">" right of colored bar) quotes. It looks like QuoteColors respects my non-graphical quoting settings on one hand, but also re-introduces the graphical quoting style on the other hand:
As I have learned from this https://www.thunderbird-mail.de/forum/thread/86842-quotecolors-version-3-0-f%C3%BCr-thunderbird-91/ thread, the addon can no longer read the settings mentioned before, which explains the corresponding read-only check boxes. Could that be the reason for my observation? Is there a way to fix this?
