Why Xcode?

Hey Steve, you write:

Xcode

Note: this is only necessary if you're on a Mac

If you are on a Mac you'll need to install Xcode. This is a collection of software tools that are not included with the default operating system but that Apple makes available. You can get it through the App Store on your mac. From the link below you can click on "View in Mac App Store" to open it up directly.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/xcode/id497799835?mt=12

This may take some time to complete the download and run the entire installation process.

Notes:

  • The installation files are large so do this on a reliable connection.

  • Requires OSX version 10.13.6 or later.

// I don't believe I ever installed Xcode. But I'm also still running 10.11. Is this need only for the newer OS?
