I love games and movies where you can either play as the "bad guy" or the bad guys win. I mean, [Darth Vader](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darth_Vader) is pretty badass right? I also love the Undead, Zombies, etc, ([Necrons](http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Necrons) in Warhammer 40k was one of my favorite races growing up - they pretty much remind me of Undead creatures).
So I wanted to create a game where you play as the "bad guy", where the player fights against heroes and townsfolk to get make their way back home to the grave.
The game is "coded" using Blueprint in [Unreal Engine 4](https://www.unrealengine.com/what-is-unreal-engine-4) game engine. You can find a more [detailed description of mechanics and gameplay in the Readme](https://gitlab.com/Saucyminator/gamedev/blob/master/ideas/Curse%20of%20Undeath/Curse%20of%20Undeath.md) for the game, you can also find more silly [GameDev ideas](https://gitlab.com/Saucyminator/gamedev/tree/master/ideas) of mine at the same place.

Sword in the Sand was a game (prototype) I had high aspirations of making, which I still hope to create or at least take some elements of in the future! It would be a singleplayer, pixel RPG game using a Top-Down camera (similar to [The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_A_Link_to_the_Past)). I mostly focused on game design, concept and list of features than actually coding anything (how surprising).
Two sources of inspiration was [The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_A_Link_to_the_Past) (my favorite game of all time) and a character concept created by Michael Doig ([source](http://michaeldoig.deviantart.com/art/Judas-Priest-Stars-Wars-369654937)). ![Judas Priest + Star Wars](http://pre07.deviantart.net/aa86/th/pre/f/2013/124/e/7/judas_priest___stars_wars___by_michaeldoig-d642zkp.png){:style="float: right; height: 500px; margin: 10px;"}
The setting was set in a very large desert, where the player plays a character called "Wanderer" (inspired by the character I've linked).
I had a long list of features I wanted to include in this game, things like:
- Level up character attributes (strength, dexterity, etc).
- Survival (gather food, water and find a shelter).
- Dynamic environments (sandstorms, moving sand dunes, etc).
- Upgradeable sword, which the game was focused around.
- Collect different types of cloaks, some are magical, others offer protection against the heat or the cold.
- Dynamic NPC (and questing) system, where rumors about the Player could spread to nearby village (good or bad).
The game was _supposed_ to be created in [Unreal Engine 4](https://www.unrealengine.com/what-is-unreal-engine-4) game engine. You can find a more [detailed description of mechanics and gameplay in the Readme](https://gitlab.com/Saucyminator/gamedev/blob/master/ideas/Sword%20in%20the%20Sand/Sword%20in%20the%20Sand.md) for the game, you can also find more silly [GameDev ideas](https://gitlab.com/Saucyminator/gamedev/tree/master/ideas) of mine at the same place.

I was inspired by the (now old) game [Breakout](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakout_(video_game)) when I created this prototype. I had many concepts of what the player and ball models could look like (to make it more challenging).
The game is "coded" using Blueprint in [Unreal Engine 4](https://www.unrealengine.com/) game engine. You can find a more [detailed description of mechanics and gameplay in the Readme](https://gitlab.com/Saucyminator/gamedev/blob/master/ideas/Bouncer/Bouncer.md) for the game, you can also find more silly [GameDev ideas](https://gitlab.com/Saucyminator/gamedev/tree/master/ideas) of mine at the same place.

Inspired by [Asteroids](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asteroids_(video_game)) to create a game where the player shoots words to form sentences, and get scored based on how well put together the sentence is.
I didn't even code a prototype for the game, only wrote down a quick idea I had. I have no exact date when I thought of this idea either.

Laserz is another prototype, this time focused on multiplayer part. Keeping it simple, I came up with these concepts (see images below). I thought it was a fun idea, but I couldn't figure out how to make the lasers shoot where the player aimed and make it bounce.

Space Evader is the first prototype of a game I've created from scratch (a game that has a win/lose condition). Where the player has to evade the lasers shot from an alien mothership (the red thing at the top in the .gif). My main goal was to keep it simple (I always make things complicated, which ends up it not being completed)!
The game is coded in [C#](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C_Sharp_(programming_language)) in the [Unity](https://unity3d.com/) game engine. You can find a more [detailed description of mechanics and gameplay in the Readme](https://gitlab.com/Saucyminator/gamedev/blob/master/ideas/Space%20Evader/Space%20Evader.md) for the game, you can also find more silly [GameDev ideas](https://gitlab.com/Saucyminator/gamedev/tree/master/ideas) of mine at the same place.
