Get More Familiar With 'Full Metal Panic!'
(Extracted from #60 (closed).)
See issue #37.
There're some aspects of Full Metal Panic! that I'd need to become more familiar with for this project if I were to use it as a crossover source material origin here. Here's what I'm fully familiar with so far:
- Its original light novel iteration:
- The original Full Metal Panic! light novel, including, aside from the main series:
- Several short story side novels: I haven't read it.
- The Side Arms full-length side story novels: I haven't read them.
- Full Metal Panic! Another, a sequel set 10 years after the end of the last series starring new characters: I haven't read it.
- The original Full Metal Panic! light novel, including, aside from the main series:
- Its manga adaptation/iteration:
- Main(-line) series:
- Full Metal Panic!, adapting light novel volumes 1–3: I haven't read it.
- Full Metal Panic! Σ ('Sigma,') adapting light novel volumes 4–12: I haven't read it.
- Full Metal Panic! Another, completely adapting its original light novel iteration: I haven't read it.
- Full Metal Panic! Surplus, a canon side story whose timeline placement I don't know: I haven't read it.
- Full Metal Panic! Overload!, a spin-off manga of unknown canonicity: I haven't read it.
- Main(-line) series:
- The anime adaptation/iteration and supplementary material:
- Full Metal Panic!, adapting light novel volumes 1–3: I've watched it.
- Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, mostly adapting the short story side novels, but with one anime-original story: I've watched it.
- Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, adapting light novel volumes 4–5: I've watched it.
- The supplementary audio drama CD adapting light novel volume 6: As it's only available in Japanese, I haven't listened to it. I also haven't read it transcribed in English fan translation (yet, though I have found a copy online.)
- Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory, adapting light novel volumes 7–12: I haven't watched it.
