Consider Using My 'ALO and/or GGO 'Mecha Musume' AU Idea'

Consider having this project use this idea, quoted from the relevant section of the post I made on the SpaceBattles forums where I first shared, among other things, some of the ideas for this project:

(Note: There's one unmarked spoiler in this quote due to GitLab's lack of support for in-line spoiler markup, though I did mark where it is another way, so you'll see it when you come across it.)

ALO and/or GGO 'Mecha Musume' AU Idea

ALO and/or GGO, either separately or combined…, except it's an AU where players can:

  • Use magitech staffs.
  • Fling functional magic about, maybe forming it from 'instant runes,' sometimes in larger circles/arrays.
  • Fly around piloting mecha musume armor. (Not sure if there'd be full-on humongous mecha, though; that might be pushing it a little…)

…I'm not sure if the different types of fairies native to canon ALO would be selectable as player avatar races in this timeline, though? There could well still be elves, but they'd only be 'fairies' in the same sense that, if they still have the same kind of flight magic independent of different flight spells — for example, making it look like they have 'winged shoes' —, the 'leprechauns' in WorldEnd: What are you doing at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us? are fae/fey. The Cait Sith (and, optionally, 'Sionnach Sidhe,' 'Coinin Sidhe,' and 'Cu Sidhe,' a la Halkegenia Online, et cetera) could well still be the resident beastkin, of course; it'd just vary by individual which kind of flight and other magic they'd have available and use.

(Other inspirations include, among other things:

  • Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
  • Assault Lily: BOUQUET
  • LBX Girls
  • Date-A-Live — but:
    • Only its technology and some aesthetics from its magic, not its whole magic system.
    • Definitely not how the main cast's relationships work in that series.
  • Vividred Operation, except without that series's fusion-mode gimmick and stakes[ — as warned earlier, here's that unmarked spoiler due to GitLab's lack of support for in-line spoiler markup! — ]putting the fate of the world at risk.)

I'm leaning towards using this idea, but I'm not completely sure I will yet, so I'm just leaving it here for now.
