Description
Currently trading is a very tedious work that subsititues a few things that could happen on their own. Because the only way to trade is with pokemon on a 1-1 basis and some item types aren't dropable. People have to catch garbage pokemon if the other party wishes to gift them a pokemon or just give an item. That extra work of catching-trading-releasing or trading-taking-trading is so unnecessary. Even just with pokemon value differences happen, what if my legendary is worth 2 leveled rare pokemon? An extra trade happened to waste time. Sure you can drop some items but that's not gonna be really safe when we have a decent playerbase. And don't even get me started on not being able to trade with yourself, you're just dragging another player into it, it's happening either way you're just making people get double the amount of trash pokemon to trade. (assuming u want to trade alt-> main that's 1 trash main 1 trash helper /pokemon)
Instead there should be regular trading between players where you're free to put any tradable items, pokemon and money into the equasion (the pokemon clickable like in box to show stats, so u know you're getting the right one, and with the box shiny indicator this would even work with shinies) with a double confirmation to make sure there aren't any misclicks. Of course if your party is full the extra pokemon would go into your pc same as catching with a full party, or if its not doable just allow as many pokemon on the scale as many space you got thats a trivial difference.
So the old trading stations arent completely obsolete, there could be an npc stationed at them that gives you a daily/weekly quest where you have to trade him a pokemon you've caught for item/pokemon rewards. There would be differences between what kind of pokemon he asks for based on relative rarity and whatnot, maybe even factor in if you turn in a shiny. Perhaps if it is a shiny it would overturn the requirement for date and location so people can "get rid of" their undesired shinies.
If daily- pokemon caught that day and maybe on a specified location and type (but can't choose a type that only appears once in that area). If weekly- pokemon caught that week of that type (no restrictions) on a specified location and trained x levels (would need to make sure it recognizes evolutions tho and figure something out so people dont just daycare train them)
The station itself could function as a sort of daily/weekly wonder trading platform. A mix of player put in pokemon and randomly generated ones that get lotteried out at the end of the day, and next day when u interact with the station you get it. Probably restrict type and level (min and max) here aswell so you can choose if you want to participate in the switcheroo and can have a general idea of what you'll be getting. This would get rid of people putting in lvl5 rattatas and ending up with op stuff for it while some poor bloke gets nothing good.
(Random idea: one or more NPC stationed randomly in the wild would ask you to train a poke he gives you x levels for rewards, but you can't use rare candy on it or put it in daycare.)
