Index shouldn't include:

• user profile pages (Update: I see a problem here.)
• internal course- and internal event pages
• ...

is this the case? does google still find them? (Update: The user profile pages can be found via Google and other search engines.)

Problem to solve

At the moment, the user profile can be found via Google and other search engines. It is visible in which courses a user has participated. Some users might find this annoying and stop them from participating in courses.

Proposal

1. Forbid to index them in robots.txt

• Forbid to index them by adding /user/ to the Disallow section of the robots.txt

2. Allow user to control what is shown (👍 @ToastHawaii)

• Add a selection in the Account Settings to control visibility of "I am involved in the following courses"
  • Display "I am involved in the following courses" for all visitors (Default)
  • Display "I am involved in the following courses" only for logged in user (this prevent that you will get found via google)
  • Do not display "I am involved in the following courses"
