Incorrect behaviour on Throne Room Guards
All the named Royal Guards in the throne room seem to be scripted to turn hostile the moment the player lands a hit on King Hlaalu Helseth.
Things I have tried:
- taunting him to attack first
- killing him with one sneak attack nobody detected
- using command humanoid to lead him to a different area
- spawning another copy of him in another area with the console
None of these things worked, everyone will always end up hostile forever with seemingly no way to calm them down, even after using stopcombat
they will resume combat right away. What worked was to straight up assault and murder Helseth, then leave the throne room and pay the bounty to another guard, which calmed them down as they attacked me for the bounty rather than hitting Helseth.
It seems that in Morrowind, hitting Helseth (even if he attacks you first) incurs a 40 gold bounty but only for the first time you hit him, and this bounty is missing in OpenMW but the script to call the guards is still there. And from what it looks like, the Throne Room Guards will attack straight away against crimes done to anyone in the room except Karrod, instead of confronting you with the usual guard dialoge.
