Rendering stops frequently, has gotten worse in 0.44.
This issue has plagued me for quite some time, but has gotten worse with the 0.44 release candidate.
Video of the issue on 0.43: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BupqnxZNg0E (took me a few attempts to trigger the issue) Video of the issue on 0.44: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAZgHzZzsQ4 (happens every time)
When loading a game, transitioning cells, or just looking at certain meshes the game locks up. Music continues to play, but all rendering stops. Installing mods makes this happen all the time. I've seen this issue creep up in the 0.3x days, where seemed to happen only with mods, though now it is happening more reliably with a vanilla, clean install.
Others have reported this in the OpenMW Discord, though I didn't see any open related issue on the tracker.
This happens on 2 of my 3 devices.
Device 1 (hangs): Windows 10 Pro x64, i7 4790K (issue still happens when not overclocked), 16 GB DDR3, Titan X Pascal, 1 TB 850 EVO SSD. Device 2 (hangs): 1st generation Surface Book w/discrete GPU (using GPU). Device 3 (works): Razer Blade 2016 (2017?) w/1060 (using GPU).
Less reliable information: I downloaded a build or maybe just precompiled OSG binaries by JDGBOLT when he was making a new Windows build script which got rid of this issue for me, even with a heavily modded install. That was a while back, I don't remember the details, only that I couldn't reproduce the issue anymore. Similarly building the project and OSG myself got rid of the issue, which made it rather hard to debug what might be causing this. I can only trigger it with the official releases. Take this with a grain of salt, it's been a problem since the OSG port and I might be mixing up details from over the years.
I've attached logs from both my 0.43 and 0.44 hangs.
