Launcher shows incorrect data paths when there's two plugins with the same name

In my openmw.cfg (uploaded here: openmw.cfg ), I have these two data paths in the following order:

  • data="D:\games\OpenMWMods\FargothMod\first"
  • data="D:\games\OpenMWMods\FargothMod\second"

In both of these data paths, there's a plugin named FargothMod.ESP.

The plugin in the "first" folder edits Fargoth and gives him an Ebony Cuirass. The plugin in the "second" folder edits Fargoth and removes his shirt.

If I load into the game with FargothMod enabled (meaning, I have content=FargothMod.ESP in my openmw.cfg), Fargoth is, as expected, shirtless, because OpenMW loads the plugin from the data path that comes later in the load order.

However, if mouse over FargothMod.ESP in the launcher, it shows me the first data path where the plugin with that name is located, which is a different plugin than the one OpenMW ends up loading.

  • Is the problem OpenMW specific or does it also happen in vanilla Morrowind?
    • OpenMW specific
  • What is your operating system?
    • Windows 10
  • What version of OpenMW are you using? If you used a bleeding edge build, state the exact revision used.
  • What version of Morrowind are you using (i.e. retail CD or Steam)? What addons (Tribunal, Bloodmoon) do you have installed? What language is your Morrowind install?
    • Probably not relevant, but English GOG version
  • Do you use any mods? If so, does the problem also occur in a clean vanilla install without any mods?
    • FargothMod.ESP. Not relevant for a clean vanilla install without any mods.
  • What are the exact steps to reproduce the problem?
    • Described above. I'm including the FargothMod.ESPs for convenience: FargothMod.7z
  • What did you expect to happen? What happened instead?
    • Described above. I expect that the launcher will show the second data path, where the plugin that OpenMW ends up loading is located.
  • Are there any error messages in your openmw.log file? If you're not an OpenMW team member, it's best to upload it.
    • Not relevant
  • What settings do you use? If you're not an OpenMW team member, it's best to upload your settings.cfg.
  • Where is the in-game location this problem can be observed? Avoid vague statements such as "west of town X". Instead, open the console (``` key by default, the key above Tab), click on the problematic object, then use the betacomment (bc) instruction to get useful information about the object that you can copy and paste into the bugreport:
    • Not relevant
