Animation blending - smooth animation transitions with modding support
This feature is referring specifically to the interpolation from one animation to another, rather than other forms of blending (walking + crossbow animation, etc). An example discussion: https://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/22402/animation-blending-basics
Allow OpenMW to smoothly blend between animations, as in later Bethesda titles such as Oblivion, Fallout and Skyrim. Morrowind's animations are infamously jerky as there is no interpolation from one animation to another. The lack of such a feature means even a high quality animation replacer will be subject to the same kind of jerkiness in-game.
Example footage of transitioning from quite different poses - Skyrim version is the most maximally awkward one I could think of, yet the blending does an admirable job smoothing it out.
