Fatigueless NPCs' corpse underwater changes animation on game load

If you spawn an NPC at an ocean and then set their fatigue to 0 ,and kill them, then save and load the save; for some reason the NPCs animation changes from drowned to knocked out, see my save file preview for how the corpses should look like (drowned) vs in-game once the save is loaded: drowned_sleepers

This happens with OpenMW 0.46 and the nightly, and doesn't happen with vanilla (at least with my tests).
