Installation fails - cannot execute 'cc1plus': execvp: No such file or directory
Hello, I'm trying to install HolelabOS on a fresh Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and could not find a solution to fix the error that I'm getting: When "make deploy" is executed (either from the one-liner install or when trying by hand), all goes find until it reaches this part:
Building wheel for matplotlib (setup.py): finished with status 'error' (many lines here, then the first error:) gcc -Wno-unused-result -Wsign-compare -DNDEBUG -g -fwrapv -O3 -Wall -DTHREAD_STACK_SIZE=0x100000 -fPIC -I/usr/local/include/python3.8 -c /tmp/tmppgasjj4i.cpp -o tmp/tmppgasjj4i.o -fvisibility=hidden gcc: fatal error: cannot execute 'cc1plus': execvp: No such file or directory compilation terminated.
I looked around and found recommendations to reinstall the build-essential package on the system, but it dit not make a difference. I verified that gcc and gcc+ are installed and the same version. I'm guessing that something's wrong with the path used by gcc, but can't really figure out why and how to fix it, running out of ideas...
Further down in the install log there's an other error. It may be a consequence of the first one, or more probably an other issue with the PATH, but again I'm a bit lost:
Building wheel for pysam (setup.py): started Building wheel for pysam (setup.py): finished with status 'error' (many lines here, then this:) configure: error: zlib development files not found HTSlib uses compression routines from the zlib library <http://zlib.net>. Building HTSlib requires zlib development files to be installed on the build machine; you may need to ensure a package such as zlib1g-dev (on Debian or Ubuntu Linux) or zlib-devel (on RPM-based Linux distributions or Cygwin) is installed.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue before ?
