documentation refclock pps missing unit description
Dear All,
Reading the documentation https://docs.ntpsec.org/latest/driver_pps.html I can see
" .... the driver opens the device /dev/pps%d, where %d is the unit number ... "
But I couldn't find how to define the unit number. So I used the old style like "127.127.22.1" till now which is not recommended to use. More or less by default than by design I found this page https://docs.ntpsec.org/latest/quick.html which describes the unit number for SHM. So I tried this for pps too and it worked like a charm.
ntpq> config refclock pps unit 1 ppspath /dev/pps1 minpoll 4 maxpoll 4 refid PPS2 flag3 1 flag4 1
Be so kind and update the documentation too how to use the keyword "unit".
Kind regards
Hans
