Repeated information in Best Practices for Experimental Science NERSC Users page
Recently I found out the page Best Practices for Experimental Science NERSC Users hidden under the "Science Partners" menu in our documentation, which repeats a lot of information already present in other parts of the docs, which causes it to go out of sync whenever there are software or hardware changes.
For example the page doesn't talk about Perlmutter or the Perlmutter Scratch, or it just mentions the availability of CFS snapshots but doesn't explain how to fetch data from a snapshot -correctly pointing to the dedicated page-, the HPSS section only mentions some of the best practices, etc
Reading up the File System overview page, I realize that we're probably not doing a good job at introducing the different storage tiers from the PoV of a user (e.g. where should I start storing my data, etc), which is very well done in the "Best Practices [..]" page instead.
My proposal is to merge the fs-related sections of "Best Practices [..]" page into the "File System overview" page and only place a link in the original page, but I think other pages would benefit too from the tips collected there so we may also spread its content and knowledge in other parts of the docs, where they would be seen by more users?
Reading the history of the page it seems @djbard wrote it in April 2020. What are your thoughts Debbie?
