Scalapack needed or not?
The documentation (section 2.1.2.3.2) has an example of building OpenBLAS + GA + OpenMolcas. In the configuration step for GA, the switch "--with-scalapack8" is passed, which indicates that GA should be compiled with Scalapack. Is it really needed? If so that should be listed in the documentation as another prerequisite. If not then the configuration example should drop that switch.
Notably, just passing "--with-scalapack8" to the GA configure doesn't actually enable scalapack, unless it happens to find it in a default location. [Testing with GA-5.4, as I don't know where to find the GA-5.4b that everyone seems to be using.] Likewise, just passing "--with-blas8" without telling it where to find it will actually fall back to its included Netlib BLAS (and luckily builds it with 8-byte integers). Moreover, the Scalapack should be built with 8-byte integers, but it's not clear how to actually achieve that -- according to https://community.amd.com/thread/159540 it's not supported and there have been no further Scalapack releases since then.
So if I understand correctly, following the mentioned example to the letter would result in a GA without Scalapack support anyway. Does that make GA/OpenMolcas perform worse? Or lead to missing features?
