1.16.1 Mid-flight Redetection

When redetecting while piloting, shields don't update. If a shield generator is removed or a new one placed, the redetection doesn't register that one shield has gone and that a new shield is present.

Additionally, one of the functions of this new redetection system is that you can tow ships while piloting. This often isn't possible, because redetecting can increase the size of your ship beyond the type's limit. You cannot switch a ship's type while piloting, so one would need to release.

Furthermore, the message displayed is 'The ship's too big! Maximum size for '[Ship Type]' is [SizeLimit]. Consider changing the ship's class!' One slight issue with this is that, according to the ship controller, it's a 'type' rather than a 'class'. This is a slight ambiguity with the system.
