I have recently installed several Gitlab runners using the following page: https://docs.gitlab.com/runner/install/docker.html
While browsing a piece on code quality I discovered the following page.
It too contains instructions on how to register a runner. One could conclude that it's duplicate documentation, but that's now my point.
It contains a tip which I think should be on the Gitlab runner installation page instead of on a code_quality
page.
Optional, but recommended: Set the builds directory to /tmp/builds, so job artifacts are periodically purged from the runner host. If you skip this step, you must clean up the default builds directory (/builds) yourself. You can do this by adding the following two flags to gitlab-runner register in the previous step.
--builds-dir "/tmp/builds" --docker-volumes "/tmp/builds:/tmp/builds" # Use this instead of --docker-volumes "/builds:/builds"
Now I could be missing something here so that's why I making an issue for feedback first. If others agree with my suggestion I would be happy to make a PR.
