When calling someone Moto devices screen won't turn on again
Expected Behavior
When I call someone and hold my phone to my ear the screen should turn off and when I release it should turn on again.
Current Behavior
I flashed Lineage to my Moto Z (griffin) a few days ago and now have quite a problem:
When I call someone or listen to an WhatsApp Audio or anything where the screen turns off, because you hold your phone to your head, the screen won't turn on again until the call has ended or the WhatsApp audio finished playing.
There's no way to get around that, normally the screen should turn on again just because you take the phone away from your ear but in my case not even pressing the power button can activate the screen.
This is quite annoying for example when I call someone, they don't answer and the mailbox answers I have to wait until the mailbox stops by itself because I can't end the call.
Someone on reddit with a Z2 Force (nash) reported the same issue
Possible Solution
There might be something wrong with the software interpreting signals from the proximity sensor but since even the power button can't turn on the screen again I'm not sure what the problem could be.
Steps to Reproduce
- Make a call / answer a call
- Hold the phone near your head or cover the proximity sensor in some other way
- The phones screen won't turn on until the call is ended.
