OTA update on XT1962-6 river from 2019.12.10 to 2019.12.12 reboots to 2019.12.10 and does not reboot to 2019.12.12 (regression)
Expected Behavior
after an ota update, the new update should boot automatically
Current Behavior
after ota updating an XT1962-6 river device from the 2019.12.10 to the 2019.12.12 update, the system rebooted to the 2019.12.10 version. Note this issue existed before the 2019.12.10 version and was reported by several users. A fix was reported by the dev(s) here and ota updating to the 2019.12.10 version from an earlier version did automatically reboot to the 2019.12.10 version.
Possible Solution
The following workaround will boot a new ota update version but is not a solution:
$ fastboot getvar current-slot
current-slot: a
$ fastboot --set-active=b
Setting current slot to 'b' OKAY [ 0.187s]
Finished. Total time: 0.189s
I'm not sure if this "regression" is an artifact related to booting from two slots (or user error from prior fiddling). If this problem does not reoccur after I ota update the next several releases, I will close this report.
Steps to Reproduce
- OTA update to the 2019.12.10 version
- OTA update to the 2019.12.12 version
