Assistant/search button remap not working on Xperia 5 III (pdx214)

Expected Behavior

Pressing the "Assistant/Search" button should trigger the associated action that the user defined in the settings. This used to work flawlessly on Lineage 22.2.

Current Behavior

The ability to remap the "Assistant" button of the Xperia 5 III doesn't work. When I go into Settings>System>Buttons, I am able to select what should happen when I long-press or short-press this button. But when I short-press or long-press it, it doesn't trigger the action that I assigned. What is interesting is that I can toggle the option to "Wake the device" when I press the "Assistant/Search button" and that works. So surely the button is recognized by the software. I can try to provide any logs that you may require, just tell me what and how and I'll happily do so.
