Google cloud backup cannot be restored when using a 4x4, 5x5 or 6x6 lock screen pattern

Expected Behavior

After a factory reset, I should be able to restore my apps and settings from the Google cloud backup (which nowadays is encrypted with the lock screen pattern) regardless of the pattern grid size I used.

Current Behavior

When you were previously using a lock screen pattern grid other than the default 3x3 (ie. 4x4, 5x5 or 6x6), the backup restore process will not allow you to enter the correct pattern because you cannot select a different grid. As a result, you are completely locked out of your own backup.

Possible Solution

Alter the backup restore application to show a pattern grid selector. If that is not possible, a huge warning should be displayed before a user defines a non-3x3 lock pattern.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. set up phone with a 5x5 security pattern
  2. back up your phone
  3. do a factory reset
  4. say yes when asked if you want to restore the new phone from the backup
  5. follow the instructions until asked to enter your old lock screen pattern

I have read the directions.
