Can't change WebView implementation on Lineage 22.x

Expected Behavior

  1. go to "Developer Settings"
  2. select Webview Implementation
  3. expect to be able to choose between all installed Webview providers

It was working fine to switch to "Android System Webview (Beta)" (com.google.android.webview) before the upgrade to LineageOS 22.1. So, in LineageOS 21.x it was working fine.

Please note that this mis behavior seems to be happen with other devices. See: #8063 (closed)

Current Behavior

Lineage 22.x is showing only the system defaul one on the list, but not other installed WebView implementations like "Android System Webview (Beta)" (com.google.android.webview).

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install Google's Android System WebView Beta
  2. enter "Developer options"
  3. select "WebView implementation"
  4. Note that the option to select another WebView implementation than the integrated one is not possible (no other WebView implementation is listed).
