"Tap to wake" stops functioning

Expected Behavior

Double tapping the screen while AOD is displaying should wake the screen and display the lock screen.

Current Behavior

• Expected behavior is present immediately after locking the phone and AOD is displayed.
• After about 10 minutes of displaying the AOD, or after covering and uncovering the proximity sensor, double tap to wake no longer functions.
• Phone will not register touch input until power button is pressed to wake screen.
• Enabling/disabling "prevent accidental wake-up" under display settings does not resolve this issue.
• Enabling/disabling "high touch polling rate" under display settings does not resolve this issue.

Steps to Reproduce

• Enable 'Tap to wake' under display settings.
• Lock phone and wait until AOD is displayed.
• Wait approximately 10 minutes.
• Double tap screen.
• Screen does not wake with double tap as it should.
• Must press power button to wake screen.
