Bluetooth Connection Unstable During Calls OnePlus 9 Pro (lemonadep), LineageOS 20 and LineageOS 21
Expected Behavior
Bluetooth calls would be clearly audible without choppiness, without skips or jumps, and the connection should not drop out.
Current Behavior
Bluetooth connection is unstable during phone calls.
Both of connection and audio quality for phone calls is very bad, not practically usable.
Audio comes in and out, and the vehicle head unit indicates the connection is dropping intermittently.
Bluetooth is working perfectly fine for video, music, and other media. No drops, clear audio.
This happens under LineageOS 20 and LineageOS 21
Steps to Reproduce
pre) Reset phone to stock with MSM Tool 4.0, and subsequently upgraded OxygenOS (OOS) from Android 11 to Android 12 to Android 13. Verified all functionality, including that bluetooth connected to head unit, played media, and made phone calls perfectly.
- Freshly installed LineageOS 21 (Android 14) for OnePlus 9 Pro (lemonadep).
- Connect/Pair phone to head unit in vehicle via Bluetooth.
- Play music, watch video, or other media (works great)
- Make any phone call (awful. Audio is choppy, connection is frequently dropping.)
Here are some of the logcats I pulled:
Multiple disconnections occurred during calls while collecting these logs.
One such disconnection was confirmed to have occurred around 17:04, and this can be seen in bluetooth.txt
