Screen does not turn back on after going in standby
Expected Behavior
The screen should wake up from the standby when the power button is pressed.
Current Behavior
The issue occurs when the screen is in standby mode for a few minutes. When the power button is pressed the screen remains off while the software responds to commands, even the touchscreen works (it seems that it is only the video signal not to reach the screen). The screen turns on again after a while, by pressing the power button repeatedly
In Logcat, as soon as the screen turns off I start receiving a series of these messages:
W WindowManager: Layout repeat skipped after too many iterations I chatty: uid = 1000 (system) android.anim identical 4 lines W WindowManager: Layout repeat skipped after too many iterations And WindowManager: Performed 6 layouts in a row. skipping
for as long as the screen remains in standby. In the meantime I'm trying to turn it back on by repeatedly pressing the power button until it comes back on.

Update 1:
The issue is caused by the "extended screen" set to "on", in particular the problem seems to be linked to the navigation bar only when it is hidden. That is, the problem NEVER happens if "extended screen" is set to "off" (if the extended screen is set for individual apps and the device goes to sleep while the navigation bar is hidden the problem does not occur). The issue only happens when "extended screen" is set to "on" for both bars or only for the navigation bar.
Possible Solution
//
Steps to Reproduce
- Set Extended Display to on for both bar or for only the navigation bar
- Wait for the screen goes to sleep mode
