Trebuchet: Start screen symbols of apps installed on SD-card get deleted after reboot
Expected Behavior
Trebuchet should show Icons for all installed apps.
Current Behavior
Symbols for apps, that are installed on external storage (SD-card) get deleted from start screen after each reboot.
This problem seems to exist since 2018.
Possible Solution
In the complete app menu (when swiping up on the start screen) apps on the SD card appear a few seconds later then the internal apps after reboot. Not sure, if this could cause other problems. But trebuchet may have a check, that removes symbols of deleted apps. This procedure should not start, before the SD card apps are "mounted".
Steps to Reproduce
- Set the default location for installed apps to SD card. (I think, there is a dialog that has this option, when inserting a new SD-card.)
- Install at least one app to SD. (For i.e. Element Messenger, it was possible to move the app from SD to internal storage, but not back t SD. So it is unclear weather the problem occurs, if an app was installed to internal storage before and then moved to SD...)
- Make sure, there is a shortcut for this app on the start screen.
- Reboot.
