LDAC no longer working on whyred

After flashing today's update (18.1-20210426-NIGHTLY-whyred) when connecting my LDAC-enabled Sony WH-1000XM3 with HD audio enabled, the phone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro) correctly picks the LDAC codec. However something seams to crash as soon as I try to play some audio as there is no audio output and the headphones just reconnect. Manually switching to aptX-HD in the developer settings before audio playback gives me working audio without crashes. If I disable HD audio the codec automatically falls back to SBC which is also working fine.

With the previous version LDAC was working fine.

Experienced the same faulty behavior with LOS 17.1. See #2302 (closed) for example.

Expected Behavior

LDAC codec doesn't cause bluetooth to crash.

Current Behavior

No audio output / bluetooth crashing when connecting LDAC-enabled bluetooth headphones in HD audio mode.

Possible Solution

Probably caused by commit 306987.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Connect LDAC-enabled bluetooth headphones
  2. Play some audio
  3. No audio output
  4. Watch bluetooth crash and headphones reconnect
