Recording 1080p "front-facing/selfie" videos with AAC audio encoder produces no sound

Expected Behavior

Creating a video with default settings should produce a video with both picture and sound

Current Behavior

Creating a video using 1080p setting and AAC encoder (the default) and recording using the selfie cam produces no audio in the output video file

Possible Solution

Set default audio encoding to AMRNB for anything above 720p on the front facing camera, or change default quality for video to 720p

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Snap camera app
  2. Change video quality to 1080p and Audio codec to AAC (these were the default for me so just make sure they are set to this)
  3. Back in the viewfinder, switch to front facing camera
  4. Record a video and make noises
  5. Watch back video and observe no audio
