AudioFX not working reliably on LineageOS 16.0/17.1 for OnePlus 3T (oneplus3)
Expected Behavior
When playing music with music players like Eleven or Vanilla Music, AudioFX should constantly work without interruption.
Current Behavior
Upon skipping to another song, AudioFX stops working even though it is still turned on in the equalizer settings of the music player. The occurrence is random and usually happens after a couple of songs, but sometimes also after the first song. It does not occur within a song.
So far I haven't been able to pin down a cause. It seems to be independent of the type of audio file that is played. To make AudioFX work again, it sometimes is sufficient to pause the song and then continue playing it. But most of the time it is necessary to force quit both AudioFX and the music player and restart it. In that case AudioFX just continues to work fine without having to manually turn it off and on again, since it is still turned on in the settings.
I haven't noticed the issue using Spotify, so I presume it might have to do with the access to the local file system.
Possible Solution
No idea :-)
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Eleven or Vanilla Music
- Start playing music
- Turn on Audio FX in the Equalizer settings (steps 2 and 3 can be done in reverse order)
- Wait until song skips to the next one (either manually or after a song is finished), and the equalizer effect randomly stops working in the next song (can take some time as it doesn't happen every time you skip a song)
