Developer options > hold back to kill the current app

In the developers options there is a switch to allow killing the current app by long pressing the back button. It does not work well on LOS 16.0. This issue exists since LineageOS 16.0 (it was working flawlessly on 15.1).

Expected Behavior

It should kill the current app (as in: the foreground application)

Current Behavior

It sometimes kill another app without saying which one (it just says "application killed"), and the current app still runs

Possible Solution

None known yet

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Use some apps like Spotify, Firefox, Runtastic... for some time
  2. Hold back button to kill the current app
  3. Sometimes it works... Sometimes it kills another app... When that happens, trying again will never kill the current app.
